Nar Pradhan

Bhutan

I’m Nar Pradhan. I’m the owner of the Himalayan Restaurant, and I also work as a community worker or social worker.

I came on February 11, 2008, as a refugee. We didn’t have the option to return to our country, so we stayed in Nepal as refugees for sixteen years. After that, the U.S. government accepted us, and that’s when I came here. I’m originally from Bhutan.

Cleveland is my new home, and I love everything about it. I believe that if we work together, we can make Cleveland a better place. It’s a small town, almost like a village compared to places like New York, Chicago, or California, but here, we know each other. If we collaborate, we can make this one of the best cities in the United States. That’s why I love it here.
